The Helen Frankenthaler woodcut exhibition at @dulwichgallery is fascinating. It seems incredible that she chose woodcut as a medium for creating prints of her supremely painterly work, and the display here shows how painstaking her quest to get things just right was, with dozens of proofs and sometimes 50 or 60 colours in each print.
