Ah, I miss ‘Lend Me A Quid’. Classic TV comedy. The episode with the bath salts! That other one where he fell over that, you know… that thing! And that weird one that was all set in outer space 🧐. Golden memories! I’ve preserved its, er, essence in this TV studio notice print, available inevitably on the Standard Designs website (in the film & tv section, funnily enough).

My recent delve in to the Standard Designs Archive turned up this wonderful curiosity - a book of postcards of CIU convalescent homes. No date, but I’m guessing late ‘60s or early to mid ‘70s. The places are quite eerie without anyone in them, but imagine an episode of The Prisoner but with the cast of Dad’s Army and I think you’ll be getting the real-life vibe here, minus the aversion therapy and psychedelics - I PRESUME…
