Today’s score at the local secondhand bookshop was this fine and authoritative tome, first published in 1958 and on its *10th* edition in 1974. How the creative process works: 1. Observe snow out the window at the end of March. 2. Remember weather forecast said ‘chance of snow’. 3. Feel exceedingly pleased with oneself for reversing that to make ‘snow of chance’. 4. Decide to superimpose both phrases on top of each other as part of daily art exercise. 5. Notice there’s a much more interesting but in the middle. 6. Show that bit instead and pretend it was what you were intending to do all along. 7.
