‘Lend Me A Quid’ - ‘TV’s most recent sitcom since “Where Do I Stick It?”’. Another new addition to the Oddments section of the Standard Designs website. I love TV studios (mostly because of the corridors - working in them is… well it’s work, isn’t it) and so at one point I started to make a series of posters for fictional TV shows from various eras that might have been stuck up to direct audience members towards the studio where the recording was to take place. Sketched rather rapidly in #adobefresco taken from the 1969 Batsford book ‘England In Colour’, which is rather wonderful (and a snip at only 10p in our local secondhand bookshop). Started out as an attempt to use my old conté crayon technique but with pencil, which didn’t work (it never did - difficult to be mega-bold with an HB) and then pushed to see if Fresco can still make something look engaging when one adds Too Much.
